Tasting notes

The nose opens with an enticing bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as raspberries, strawberries, and pomegranate. Subtle hints of dried herbs, lavender, and crushed rose petals follow, adding an aromatic complexity. The whole-cluster fermentation brings a touch of spice—perhaps a hint of black pepper and earthiness—that mingles beautifully with the fruit. There’s also a faint aroma of fresh leather and a faint herbal note, evoking the character of the vineyard's terroir.

On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, with a fine balance between its bright red fruit and savory undertones. The red berries—think wild strawberries and raspberries—are present with a refreshing juiciness. The whole-cluster fermentation contributes a bit of structure and a slight tannic edge, giving the wine an elegant, firm backbone. The texture is smooth, with a velvety mouthfeel and a soft, polished finish.

Production notes

A blend of 2 different clones, 362 and 513. We fermented each lot separately including 25% whole clusters in both tanks. The tanks were inoculated using specialized yeast cultures designed for optimal extraction of flavors, tannins, and textures. After pressing the wine was racked into neutral 225L and 265L barrels. The wine was then racked only once for blending in the spring of 2023 and laid back to rest until bottling late spring 2024.
