2023 Vermentino
Tasting notes
This is a wine that exudes the Mediterranean and pays homage to the great whites of that area. Aromas of daffodil, lime zest, and ocean spray freshness that lead to a palate filled with rich grapefruit, underripe pineapple, and crisp summer melons. This is the perfect wine for those warm summer days, fish tacos, roast quail, asparagus, white bean hummus, or your favorite seafood pasta. Drink now through 2028.
Production notes
Vineyard select from the Duas Terras Vineyard in the Geneseo District farmed by 4th generation grape grower Richard Lauchland, we harvested the fruit at perfect ripeness to make a wine with racy acidity, freshness, and relatively low alcohol at 12%. The fruit was whole cluster pressed and cold settled for 48 hours before racking into a stainless tank for fermentation. After primary fermentation was complete, we racked the wine into 3 stainless steel barrels and added a small amount of so2 to inhibit malolactic fermentation. The wine aged in barrel for 8 months before bottling mid-May 2024.

Aged eight months in stainless steel, this is a most ethereal white from the Duas Terras Vineyard planted by fourth-generation grower Richard Lauchland, whose family farmed grapes during Prohibition. Joining aromas and flavors of jasmine and ginger, pure salinity and notes of chervil and grapefruit zest line the palate.
